We interpret SPIRITUAL AWAKENING differently depending on prior beliefs

Let’s begin with a bit of psychology: We all interpret situations differently depending on our identity and prior beliefs. Our memory also becomes distorted over time, in a way that is colored by our beliefs and our identity.

Now, let’s take the spiritual awakening that is happening on the planet. Many, regardless of faith, are going through it. Even some atheists are going through it, but unless they realize that they are wrong in their atheism, they will not even begin to understand what is happening to them.

My point is that something very strange is happening on our planet. Something spiritual in nature. Something that is often referred to as a global spiritual awakening, where individuals wake up to who they really are and the truth about reality. Those that are going through this know that it’s true. It’s not “maybe it’s happening, maybe it’s not, we’ll see”. This is most definitely happening, even if no one seems to have the whole picture. 

Since the awakening, what ever it is, is spiritual in nature, it makes sense that we interpret it through our prior spiritual beliefs. There is nothing wrong with this. On the contrary, it would be strange if what is happening now has nothing whatsoever to do with our current beliefs about religion and spirituality. Or that what is happening now is going to erase all of religious history up until now.

I myself make no secret of my belief that Christianity, and especially the person of Jesus, has a special role to fill in what is happening now. But I’m also trying to stay open to what other beliefs can tell me about this. And considering what role the church has played throughout history, I’m not going to just go ahead and put 100% faith into biblical interpretation based on church doctrine. But when it comes to Jesus, I believe something like this: No matter what it means that Jesus is the son of God, or that Jesus is both fully God and fully human, Jesus shows the nature of God embodied in one single person. Jesus was what God would have been like if God was human. And humans were made in the image of God.

Our realities are shaped by our subjective experiences and our beliefs about them. Our beliefs are shaped by our identities. Depending on who we believe ourselves to be, what we believe about the world, what we value and so on, we will accept some information and perspectives while rejecting others. Then comes the passage of time. We forget certain things because we don’t think about them, while we reinforce (and distort) others by ruminating over them and discussing them with other, often likeminded, people. 

I believe that an important conclusion to be drawn from this, is that it’s time that we start talking to each other. We have this distorted view and perception. This is self-evident once we see the conditions that we live under clearly enough. And we might not be able to understand what is going on as long as we stick to talking about it with likeminded people. And we all know that something happens, when people come together and discuss things without the ego-based need to be right. Something that becomes fertile soil for important insights.

Discussion of the movie: Early Warning

Early Warning is a Christian End Times movie that me and my wife watched the other day. The reason I wanted to write about it is because what is taking place in it, matches the plans that the World Economic Forum has more or less perfectly.

The movie came out 1981!

Just watch the first 10 minutes of the movie and then watch a short video about the WEF:s plans that came out this year. I’ll leave a link to both of them at the end of the post.

The movie is about two journalists struggling to expose the One World Foundation’s plotting to take over the world and usher in global tyranny. It’s clearly low budget, but some effort has been put into it. So if you have nothing better to do and don’t have anything against Christian end times movies, I suggest that you watch the rest of the movie as well.

I honestly don’t know what to make of this. I‘ve talked about it before. On the one hand, people, including myself, are most definitely going through spiritual awakenings. And even if I see myself as a Christian, most of those that go through awakenings don’t. And most of those people believe more or less that we all are here for a learning experience, and even though we are heading for some dark times, there is really nothing to be afraid of for anyone, since reality basically is an illusion anyway. And I believe that there is some merit to this. I’ve noticed, for example, that as I go through my awakening, the world seems both more alive and vivid on the one hand, and less real and solid on the other. This does sound a lot like it could be a part of being in the world but not of it though, when I think about it. 

On the other hand, it seems undeniable that biblical end times prophecies are coming true today. And I know that I can be a bit eccentric at times, but I don’t want to become some crazy doomsday prophet. I’m not someone that has the habit of screaming at people to “repent or go to hell!” or that walks around with a holier than thou attitude. On the contrary, I don’t believe that even the worst of us deserve to go to hell, because I know that there are always reasons for people being who they are and doing what they are doing. And even if there were absolutely no reasons whatsoever, I still don’t believe that anyone can do anything that would justify eternal suffering. And quite frankly, knowing the history of the church, I’m not inclined to trusting the theology that has been developed within its framework since the church became a political power. 

As for the end times, I do not want to live in them. It would be much easier if I just had my spiritual awakening to focus on. I would be glad if I could simply look at all of this as if I'm just here to learn. If there ultimately was nothing to worry about, because in the end it will turn out okay for everyone. Something along these lines is what I hope for. But I'm in no way sure about it.

Furthermore, when I look into alternative spirituality, something that many Christians distance themselves firmly from, I find much undeniable wisdom in it. Not in all of it of course. But in a lot. And a lot of it seems congruent with biblical teachings. So much so, that some Christian thinkers, such as for example Olle Carlsson, have ideas that are more or less inseparable from those of non-Christian thinkers. And yeah, I know that some may say that Olle Carlsson isn’t a real Christian and bla bla bla… What I wonder is when people will no longer get away with making such claims with zero substance in them. I seriously feel lost and confused when it comes to this. I take this whole thing seriously, because I know that something big is about to happen. So I spend loads of time and energy trying to figure out what is what. And the best thing I can come up with is that both perspectives must somehow be true. That one shows us the prophecies that are coming true, while the other shows our true nature - what it means to be made in the image of God. There seem to be people, such as David Wilcock and J.P Sears that seem to be moving in a similar direction as well. 

The makers of this movie however, would in all likelihood not agree with such a viewpoint. There is quite a bit of talk about being saved or unsaved and the threat of hell is always present. This is what I have difficulty with. On the one hand, others that see these prophecies coming true seem very certain that adherence to strict biblical doctrines is the only viable alternative. On the other hand, my experiences, that are undeniably real, that are filled with such blissful feelings of love and connection, experiences that have turned my whole life upside down, continue pointing towards alternative spirituality. And it sucks to belong to a small minority, when most of the world believes that you’re wrong. Especially when you yourself are filled with so much doubt and confusion that I am. And at the same time it’s wonderful. Because even though I don’t know exactly what is happening, I at least know this much for sure: It is real!

About the World Economic Forum and The Great Reset

A SPIRITUAL perspective on how EXTRAORDINARY the TIMES that we are living in actually are

We are in all likelihood living in the most important time in the history of the planet. If you’ve started to understand anything about the times we are living in, no matter what exactly you think that you have begun to understand, you must agree with me on this. When all of that which is taking place right now, no matter exactly what it is, is over, the world will be completely different from before. So different that nothing in our known history compares. And yes, I understand which events that compete with it and I stand by what I’m saying. If you understand what I’m talking about here, you agree. You agree because you can see this for yourself.

I want you to just take a moment and think about this. What this means. I honestly don’t know what is going on or where it is going to end. I used to think that I knew. But all I know for sure now is that God and spirituality has something to do with it. And that whatever this is, it’s happening. And maybe it’s the same for all of us that are going through this. We know that something extraordinary is happening. And depending on which sources we come into contact with and which ideas we take to heart, we form beliefs around it. But what if none of us know exactly what this is that is happening?

What I do know, is that even though I know that this is happening, I don’t think that I’ve even begun to take in the whole situation. It doesn’t feel really real to me, even though I know that it is.

Let’s put this in some perspective: We are facing something that is going to change not just our world, but our perspective on our very existence, spirituality, the world, God and ourselves forever. But to a large degree it’s still invisible to our five senses. Knowing this, it’s probably not strange that it’s hard to fathom. We’ve put the absolute majority of our attention on our five senses throughout most of our lives. We still do, but as we wake up to other aspects of reality, our attention is drawn away more and more from the five senses. And as it is, our perception of ourselves and the world becomes more clear. Our consciousness expands on multiple levels. As we dissolve blockages inside and connect more with the flow of life, instead of having our focus only on the five-sense reality, we start to connect more dots in the five sense reality as well. We start to see through the distortions. It’s a strange paradox. The more we put our focus in the five-sense reality, the more distorted our perception becomes. What we need to understand is that we are never going to think our way through this. Our thoughts can only guide us when they are free from distortions, which is something that can only happen as we come into contact with more of our insides and remove the energy blockages that cloud our vision. This is also probably why it seems futile to reason with someone that hasn’t begun to wake up. I’m not saying this to create division between those that are awake and those that still sleep. It’s just a fact that there is a very definite before and after when it comes to this, and before it happens, one is blocked from seeing certain things.

People both within the world religions and more modern spirituality are waking up to this. And perhaps we should consider that there is a reason for this. That maybe we need to talk to each other about this and try to figure out what it means, instead of just shutting each other out because we belong to different faiths. I realize that we need to be very cautious when it comes to ideas about a universal, global religion or spirituality, not in the least because of the warnings about this, for example in the Bible. But we don’t have to agree on everything. We don’t have to agree on anything. What is most important is already in place: There is a god and a spiritual reality, we live in very extraordinary, unprecedented times and we do seem to share a common enemy in the World Economic Forum. 

I was first reluctant towards using the word “enemy”. But as long as we remember Jesus’ words “Love your enemies”, I don’t think that this is the wrong choice of words. Because what do you call someone that wants to hurt you and force you into things that are not for your best interests? 

Before I continue, I want to remind your of just how extraordinary these times are. In all likelihood, nothing since the dawn of life, has been so significant in this planet’s history, as what is taking place right now. Nothing. And maybe all of us that see this, regardless of faith, need to start talking to each other. If we start having a conversation where everyone takes responsibility for approaching said conversation with as little ego as possible, maybe we can start discerning what is true from what is false together. This means listening respectfully to ALL perspectives, no matter how disagreeable we find them, and trying to understand where other people are coming from. It means to be open to change one’s mind, but not for any other reason than that one is thoroughly convinced that it’s called for. It also means to stick with what one truly believes in, but without attaching personal importance to it. 

I don’t know exactly how many we are. But I bet that we are many. What can we do if we put away all that separates us and connect with each other for real? What could be accomplished if we start working together and value each other? As long as we are divided, it’s much easier to control us.

What if EVERYONE rejected the Great Reset?

In my darker moments, I have basically thought suit yourself if you want to sell your freedom for security and comfort, about those that will join the Great Reset (If you don’t know what the great reset is, I’ll leave a link at the end of this post). But of course I want every single person on the planet to be saved from this demonic system. And what if literally everyone saw through it, decided to instead unite in love and say: “Thanks, but no thanks.” This thought feels so much better and lighter. I know that it seems like a very unrealistic scenario. But even though we live in dark times, we also live in times of incredible light and miracles. Right now we have to look inside ourselves for the miracles. But they are most certainly there.

I think most people are naive to different degrees. Just like most people are cynical to different degrees. That is not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about having faith. Faith in God, in ourselves and in humanity. Faith in that even though solutions may seem far away and you personally cannot see a way out, it doesn’t mean that there is no way out, because for God, nothing is impossible. 

I’m talking about choosing to believe in the potential goodness in every person on the planet, in spite of everything that speaks to the contrary. To believe that we can unite in love for one another, instead of being divided by mistrust and fear and scared into obedience.

ASTONISHING and PROPHETIC predictions about the NEAR FUTURE

I predict that we will be hit with one “global disaster” after another during this year and the coming years. The media will faithfully report this to us and tell us that we have to be very afraid. And of course we should. Because there is nothing strange whatsoever that if it isn’t an infectious disease, it’s war, famine, hyperinflation or something else. And then another infectious disease. And then another war. And so on. It’s nothing but a coincidence that the super rich get even richer through this, through what has been called “the biggest wealth transfer in history”, while everyone else is getting poorer. Or that these same rich people are making money from the solutions to the problems. Or that when it comes to the problems that affect us directly, the world seems just fine, except for the measures taken to stop the problems.

If one thing seems to be under control one week, there is another the next. And there is absolutely nothing strange about this. Suddenly disaster after disaster hits us for no other reason than pure randomness and human folly. And this, strangely enough, occurs just as the global elite, that of course has nothing but good intentions for the whole of humanity, is planning a global control system called the Great Reset, through the World Economic Forum. A system that no one would agree to unless they were in need and scared into compliance. It is almost as if someone is causing problems and then presenting solutions that we normally would find reprehensible. It’s almost as if we’re gradually being trained into accepting that more and more liberties are taken away. 

But of course this is just crazy talk. You don't want to be some kind of whacko conspiracy theorist, do you?!

As a matter of fact, it’s just pure, random, bad luck coupled with some good old fashion human nature. And the reason that I predict that these events will keep hitting us, one after another, is because I’ve acquired supernatural abilities and am now able to see into the future . It’s not at all because something else is going on here, such as that events are orchestrated and/or blown out of proportion by the mass media, so that we will be scared into compliance and obedience. Remember this when the next catastrophe hits us. I predicted it because I can see into the future. So you should probably give me some money or something.

Attempts at figuring everything out...

Nothing is what it seems. The world and everything in it is something other than I thought it was. I know this now. And since I realized this, I’ve been so caught up in trying to figure everything out, that I’ve been driving myself crazy because of it. There is just so much that I want to know. So much that I want to understand. 

I’ve reached a few conclusions that I discussed in a recent blog post. But I can’t be satisfied with those. My thoughts keep on spinning. Keep on trying to guess what is going on. Sometimes they fly off into really bizarre explanations that I’m not even going to discuss here, because you will definitely think that I’m crazy. But it’s probably not that strange. I don’t know where you who is reading this are on your journey. But I’ve encountered undeniable evidence that the world and the systems within it are very different from what I’ve been taught to believe. That we cannot trust our five sense at all and logic and reason are very impotent tools for understanding reality. And yet, these are the tools that I’ve been told to use to make sense of everything. So my brain continues to make one suggestion after the other about what is going on, while it really has nothing to base these suggestions on.

So, maybe it’s time to let go and just trust the process. Maybe it’s time to focus on what I do know and build from there. When you know beyond any reasonable doubt, that reality is more than what can be perceived with the five senses, it follows logically that anything becomes possible. And from this, basically two options follow. With nothing else to go on, I can either drive myself crazy by continue to guess, or let go, do my best, be my best and hope for the best. Because this, whatever it is, is definitely happening.

And honestly, there is so much in our everyday experience that is totally magical when we lift our heads a little bit and just observe what is really going on: To truly inhabit our bodies. To really experience our senses. To truly connect with other people. A thought just struck me: Perhaps we need to start with this physical experience, right here, right now, if we want to access what is beyond it. Because whatever is beyond it, and there certainly is something, right here and right now, this physical experience is what we have in front of us.

Confusion - What do we really KNOW?

In this post, I’m going to try and separate what I know from speculations. I’m not asking you to take my word for anything. But I encourage you to look into it for yourself. Seek out information. Meditate on it. Pray about it. 

So, what do I know really? I absolutely know that what we are seeing with the whole situation that has been going on the past 2.5 years and what we’re seeing with Russia and Ukraine, have spiritual reasons behind them. Take it for what you will. I’m not saying that I will never suffer from what is happening in the world. But what I do know, is that the only answers to the crisis are spiritual ones. I’m not looking for the ego-gratification of convincing anyone that I am right. I’m not interested in debating or who has the best arguments. The only thing I’m interested in, is speaking what I know to be true to anyone that listens. To shine some light in the darkness, maybe bring someone a little bit of hope and relieve some suffering. And if no one listens, I’ll keep on talking anyway. 

During my life, I guess I have been a seeker. Now I’ve found something, but I’m not sure exactly what. There are a lot of people out there that are confident in their explanations of what is going on. Perhaps some of them are right. All I know is that I’m not one of those people and that I haven’t found sufficient reasons to fully trust any of them. And I have even less reason to trust the official “truths” about what is going on. I can be more or less certain that they are untrue. 

So, I’m to a large degree as confused as most people. I wish that I could be as certain as many others seem to be. At the same time, I don’t believe that uncertainty is a negative thing. It’s a scary place be in. But not a bad one. And since many of those that are certain hold contradictory views to each other, all of them cannot be right. And my guess is, that someone who is very sure of him/herself, would generally be much more uncomfortable being thrown into uncertainty, than someone already living there. 

What more do I know? Well, I know that there is a God and that this God is personal. I know this because this God has made his existence known to me and many other people in different ways. I also know that everything that happens, both to us as individuals and on a collective level, has reasons behind it, even if those reasons to a large degree are shrouded in darkness. I know that there is some sort of plan. That what is happening now is not just random events that can end up in any way. 

I know that the world is much more than what can be perceived with the five senses. Exactly what, I don’t know. But I know that there is some sort of energetic reality, that somehow corresponds with the one that we can experience with the five senses. 

Finally, I know that we are being fed lies about how the world works, politics and the systems that we live in. That we are being fed these lies by the establishment, whether it is by the mass media, politicians, other public figures or the education system. How deep the proverbial rabbit hole goes, I don’t know. But where I stand today, I’m prepared to keep an open mind even towards the most crazy, far out ideas about how things really work. Because I believe that I have been given sufficient reason to doubt more or less everything that I have been told is “true”. 

God's kingdom and heaven on earth

In the Book of Revelation it is talked about 144.000 people that are going to rule together with Jesus in from mount Zion over the earth. This is likely symbolic language. Jehovahs Witnesses for example, believe that these are people that will rule over the earth from heaven.

An interesting thought came to me with regards to this. And I’m not in any way saying that this is a matter of fact. But hear me out.

Many mystics, both within Christianity and other religious traditions that use Christian terminology, believe that heaven is an internal state and not an actual place. And there is some support for this in the Bible, in that it talks about heaven and paradise as if they were two different “places”. So, what if these 144.000 are actually people that have realized heaven within, i.e people that have reached some form of spiritual enlightenment. And what if these are people that are going to build the new kingdom, separate from the corrupt kingdoms of the earth. 

There are a few other details in this. But if we accept that even such passages in the Book of Revelation that on the surface seem literal, might also be symbolical, these become easier to swallow as well.

There is an obvious link between the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation and there is in the Book of Daniel a heavy emphasis on the corrupt kingdoms of the earth, that are finally to be replaced by the kingdom of God. 

Now, these 144.000 cannot rule until they have fully realized heaven within themselves. This means that until they have set aside all of the ego’s petty desires and wishes, they are not fit to rule.

History has seen few examples of enlightened rulers and in all likelihood none that have been totally enlightened. As a rule with very few exceptions, our rulers have been chosen among the biggest egos. But I believe that this, in one way or another, is coming to an end now. 

The end-goal, I believe, for all of humanity, is to live in total freedom, freely choosing obedience to the will of God. But before this can happen, ego-less rulers that are truly there to serve in total humility need to govern the masses. The choices are really simple. Love over hate. Good over evil. Humility over pride. Forgiveness over judgment. But until the veil is lifted so that one sees this choice clearly, one needs truly benevolent rulers. Rulers that cannot become corrupted by power.

What should I believe with regard to all of this that is happening? This is a question that I keep coming back to. Because there is no doubt that beliefs are important. What we believe shape our thoughts, words and actions. And even if I don’t believe this, for many Christians what we believe makes the difference between salvation and damnation, between heaven and hell. Even if I don’t believe this myself, I believe that this is something that deserves to be taken seriously. Not just because of the issue of salvation and damnation per se, but also because this tells us something about the importance of beliefs.

And now I’m going to say something that may not be popular. In fact, I’m going to say it many times on my blog. What I’m going to say is: Christians and New Agers might have things to learn from each other.

Because my best conclusion is that somehow both all this weird stuff with chakras, aliens, energies, quantum physics, reincarnation on the one hand, and Christianity, the End Times and the second coming of Christ, must be true. This is the only conclusion I can draw, however strange it feels when I actually spell it out. 

Why?

Because on the one hand, I’ve had many personal experiences of things that New Agers talk about, such as chakra openings and the energies that flow through the meridian system. And I've had very similar experiences to many other people that also go through what can be called a spiritual awakening and the Ascension Process. But I’m also very much drawn to the message and the person Jesus Christ, and I can’t deny that many of the End Time prophecies of the Bible seem to be coming true. As far as I can see, when I try to be as humble and open as possible, it's impossible for me to completely dismiss either side. 

If I’m wrong about this I sincerely want to know, from someone that can deliver a convincing argumentation. "You're being close-minded" or "believe this or you're going to hell" does not count as convincing argumentations though.

When you realize that the world is more than can be perceived with the five senses, anything becomes possible. I keep coming back to this. And this is something that I absolutely know. I can’t prove it with evidence, arguments or logic. But I’m willing to go out and sound like a crazy person to many of oy Facebook contacts, because at the moment this is more or less the only outreach that I have, even if occasionally someone else finds his/her way to my blog. Because this, whatever it is (I believe that there is much that no one has yet fully understood about this), is more important than anything else. It’s definitely much more important than what a few friends, relatives and acquaintances might think of my mental state. And I know that this, whatever it is, will probe itself to be real to more and more people. Simply because I know that it is. 

If I was alone in this, it could easily be written off as pathological. But as I’ve said, I’ve shared many experiences with my wife, and all over the world people are reporting similar experiences. Two YouTubers that have many followers, that talk about this, are Victor Oddo and Aaron Doughty. To someone who has had no such experiences, their content will probably seem quite outlandish. But it should tell you something that these people have rather large followings that are growing every day. It’s also a funny thing to read about this in different forums. People seem to have a hard time understanding how this weird stuff can have grown so big, since the idea that it all actually might be true seems completely out of the question, unless personal experience has convinced them otherwise. And to a large extent, this is just the way it should be. This is at least what I believe, since I don’t believe that it’s good to accept anything at face value no matter how true it is. Why we believe something is often much more important than what we believe.

If I try to put my big issue with regards to modern spirituality and Christianity into words, it would sound something like this: I cannot deny that what many of the books within modern spirituality teach is true. Much of it is actually based on Hinduism from the beginning. A funny sidenote is that C.S. Lewis, the author of the Narnia books, in his theological books, said that the only valid religious choice for mature people, is between Christianity and Hinduism. Funny enough, Lewis also believed that everyone’s aim is to reach the same perfection as Christ, even if he didn’t believe that this would reach fruition during this lifetime. 

I have had many experiences with the chakra system, as well as the meridian system. I’ve also felt what Eckhart Tolle calls “the inner body”, which I would say probably is connected with the meridian system. 

I can furthermore not deny that the development in the world seems to follow the pattern predicted by those that speak of the Ascension Process. Neither can I deny that my personal experiences coincide with what others are reporting. For example, when someone says that there are heavy, burdensome energies affecting us, I tend to feel tired and sluggish as well and when the energies are light, i feel light and need less sleep. This has happened too many other times to be written off as coincidences, especially seen in the light of everything else that is going on. And as I’ve already mentioned, how I experience myself and the world has shifted in a way that is in line with what would be expected according to those that speak of the Ascension Process.

Yet furthermore, just like many others that report going through a spiritual awakening, I’ve awakened to my own shadow. I’ve started seeing one personal issue after the other in what appears to be an endless stream. Destructive habits, attitudes and beliefs that have been there all along, but which I’ve been blind to until I started to awaken. These habits, attitudes and beliefs are now suddenly blatantly obvious and causing problems in my life that I cannot ignore. Problems that get worse and worse until I deal with then. And yet, consistent with what other people are reporting, I also become more and more able to deal with my problems, even if the struggle is sometimes so hard that I momentarily sink into despair.

An attempt at making sense of what's going on in the world as humbly as I'm capable of Part 7

Today I want to start talking about what in spiritual circles is called the Ascension Process. More specifically, I want to bring up the fact that many people right now, are reporting strange things occurring in their lives. It can be anything from seeing energies in the air, to having energy rushes throughout the body, thoughts and insights that don’t seem to come from themselves, seeing the same numbers over and over again, heightened intuition and strange synchronicities.

At the core of this is the idea that everything, including thoughts and emotions, vibrates at different frequencies. If I understand it correctly, this has some basis in quantum physics. However, I’ve only read the popularized versions of quantum physics and I guess that among researchers, there is probably som disagreement when it comes to this. Especially since the physicists themselves don’t really seem to know exactly what they’ve encountered here. 

I have already made a several posts about what has happened to me personally. You can find some of them in my series What's going on on the inside parts 1, 2 and 3. I will also make a post about biblical prophecies in the near future. Until then, there is an abundance of material on this online.

From what I’ve experienced so far, what other people say about the Ascension Process seems consistent with my own experiences. Two consistent thems, that go hand in hand, are “waking up to who we really are” and “waking up to the true nature of reality”. Another consistent theme, is that we have much more power over ourselves and our lives than we think, but that we need to train ourselves out of the reactive state that most of us operate from. Instead we need to make active, intentional choices independent of the circumstances that we find ourselves in.

In today’s post, I feel that I need to make something clear. Namely what I don’t believe in this situation that we are in and why. What I don’t believe, even if I cannot be certain of it, is that we are facing some end-times scenario where the righteous will be saved but sinners condemned for all eternity. I simply cannot in any way get this view to fit with the idea of an all-powerful, loving God. I’ve spent a great deal of time reading and thinking about this issue. I have done so, because even if I don’t believe this to be the case, I know that many people do. Some that are overall more insightful and intelligent than I am. And the idea of hell causes some fear in me, even if I don’t believe in it, simply because I cannot be sure. Considering this, I can only imagine what fear it must cause someone that actually believes in it. 

Since our beliefs and the emotions associated with them shape who we are, the words that we speak, the actions that we take, and consequently what effect we have on the world, I believe that this is an important question. Especially in these times of uncertainty that we are in that, in one way or another, are spiritual at their core.

I can ponder this forever. But the conclusion that I come to, over and over again, is that no matter how much I turn things around in my head, it is still impossible for me to reconcile hell with a loving God. If God is love and can do anything, why would God let anyone suffer for all eternity? Finite suffering I can understand. It may for example shape us into better people or prepare us for something better down the road. But eternal suffering just seems like cruelty for no reason. Often, if if you look at things that many regard as sins, because of things that we do not know or understand are trespasses. 

I know that God is infinitely more wise than humans. But unless this means that the mind of God runs totally contrary to the minds of humans, where good becomes evil, up becomes down, etcetera and vice versa, this does not suffice as an explanation either. And I don’t think that anyone would be able to defend the logical implications of such a stance. Think, for example, of what you would think of a father that would allow his child to be tortured even for five seconds. And now think of how much greater the difference is between a human and God, compared to that between a child and an adult.

For these reasons, even though I actually do believe that the answers, to a large degree, are to be found in the Bible, I at least have to reject the classical Christian interpretation of the End Times.

In today’s post, I will talk some about my personal stance in relation to what is going on right now (sorry for taking so long to get to the point…). From where I stand, I simply don’t know exactly what is going on. Just that whatever is happening, it is happening. It is not a matter of blind faith or “maybe something is happening and maybe not so let’s have a debate to see who’s right”. This, whatever it is, is real. I keep coming back to this, because this is the key thing that has to be understood. Scientific materialism has already lost the battle. It just doesn’t know it yet. Reality, not clever arguments, will inevitably prove it false. 

I’m not interested in talking about if this is happening. I’m interested in what is happening. Because maybe there is already an answer out there that is just waiting for everyone to get on board. Or we have different pieces of the puzzle that are still waiting to be put together. Or there is one truth, but it has some gaps that need to be filled.

What I can say for sure is that there is a spiritual component to reality and to the events taking place in the world. And from this it logically follows that until we know more, anything is possible. Except of course that which already can be ruled out. Which is not much, compared to the realm of infinite possibilities.

As I hinted in the first post in this series, the way I see it, in one way or another, we have reached the end of a long road. The world will not just go back to normal and we are on our way towards something that is radically different from anything in recorded history. And even though the world is in a dark place right now, I believe that this is something wonderful. That one way or another, all will be well. Because this awakening that is happening - and it is happening - cannot be for nothing. And every time that I feel close to God, I feel nothing but love and assurance. It is only when I feel alone in my mind, hearing only my ego’s small voice, that I doubt. Of course I cannot convince anyone else about this, since this is my personal experiences and in some cases also my wife’s, since we’ve shared quite a few of them. 

But I can say this with absolute certainty: Until you start seeking God, things will continue to get darker and more painful. I know this for a fact. And in all likelihood, if you’ve started to wake up, this will resonate with you. If it doesn’t right now, perhaps you will remember this in the future when all seems to fall apart. Because turning to God is always an option, even if it is born out of desperation. “Seek and you shall find”, as famous Jesus quote says.

To conclude this post and pave the way for next post: I believe that there are a few spiritual explanations for what is going on. All can be called a form of global spiritual awakening. They can roughly be divided into three categories: Ascension, end times and the end of a cycle. “Ascension” or “The Ascension Process” is the term used in more modern spiritual circles. According to Christian terminology, what is happening would be referred to as “the End Times”. Islam and Judaism have their versions of this event. In Hinduism and Buddhism you find concept of huge time cycles. In this context, the end of a cycle is signified by cataclysmic events and the shift, just like with the Ascension or the conclusion of the End Times, results in a radically different world.

There is also one alternative that isn’t explored as often. Namely that, in spite of a seeming incompatibility, it’s a combination of two or more of these explanations.

Don’t you think that it’s a little weird that we just seem to be hit by one global crisis after the other?  As if something is not quite right with what we see or read in the news? Do you get a feeling of unreality when you look at the state of the world? Perhaps this feeling of unreality is something more than just your mind playing tricks on you?

I don’t intend to go into much evidence when it comes to the politics of the current situation in this series. Others have done that much better than I ever can. Towards the end of this post, I will however provide some information if you want to check out alternative voices that talk about what is going on.

What I want to talk about is the spiritual perspective. And at the core, I absolutely believe that what is going on right now is a spiritual matter. In the next post I will go into more detail about this. Here I will just say that this is not something that happens within a small, fringe group of New Agers and/or tin foil hats. All over the world, people are reporting that they are going through spiritual awakenings. I am going through one. The big problem is that the evidence that we are receiving is of a personal kind. This means that from the perspective of the current paradigm, there is no way to prove that what we experience is real, since modern values tell us to disregard anything that cannot be proven objectively, even if reality at its core is a subjective experience. Let me repeat that: Reality at its core is a subjective experience. We only have access to our subjective interpretation of our sense data. Please don’t just brush this off as this is very important. This means that we don’t have direct access to the “objective” world that is given such primacy as far as knowledge is concerned today. There is no easy way around this. But this is the condition that we find ourselves in.

I wish to draw your attention to something that I know some have noticed, but that most commentators seem to miss. Namely what has happened to us. I will make a whole post on this. To understand what I’m talking about here, you need to understand a fundamental insight. Namely that attention is everything. Depending on what we pay attention to, we will get a completely different life and reality. So, what do you think will happen, if we are not even conscious of what we are paying attention to, in a world with unlimited access to distractions 24 hours a day? We of course have our smart phones, we have games, tv-series, pornography, sensationalist journalism etc. Doctors prescribe psychotropic drugs that make us more absent and numb our senses, often because of problems caused partially by our inability to focus. We are constantly under stress and pressured to always be accessible. Furthermore, social media is replacing human interactions and make us focus more on our appearances than our actual selves. 

It is in general pretty clear that our culture is destroying us mentally and emotionally. And it’s not as if there is no psychological research available that can tell us this. Coupled with this, we have a huge control system in place, that to a large extent is capable of running itself through advanced algorithms.

There is however a way out of this. We need to: Seek God first. Meditate. Pray. Practice mindfulness. Start looking at ourselves and our choices with as much honesty as possible. Bring as much awareness into our lives as possible. Don’t be afraid of looking at that which is shameful and painful. It’s going to be there whether we choose to look at it or not. Be honest with ourselves with regard to our habits, with as little judgment as possible. Start making conscious choices, instead of just letting life happen. Change will not come from us changing the political system. Change will come when we start taking responsibility for ourselves and our lives.

There is something strange going on in the world, within me and within many other people. That much I can be certain of. Things are not what we are being told by the establishment. And whatever else may be true, I’m certainly not the only one seeing this. Whatever else may be true about this, there seems to be a double awakening going on. One that pertains to who we are and our spiritual natures and one that pertains to the state of the world. 

This is what I believe that I can say for sure. But here the certainty ends. There are many theories about what is going on, on both the inside and the outside. And I wish that I could be as certain as many people claim that they are. But I am not. If you’re seeing and experiencing what is happening and identify as “spiritual but not religious” you might call it the Ascension Process. If you lean towards Christianity, you might believe that what we are seeing is the End Times. In this, two things are for sure: The strange experiences that me and many others are having, are connected with what is going on in the world. And what is going on in the world right now are not just random events happening by accident.
